What is stamped concrete?
Stamped concrete is concrete that has been shaped, patterned, and colored to resemble something other than just plain concrete. This shaping is generally done with molds and stamps that are pressed into the wet concrete before it dries. Stamped concrete can be shaped to resemble a huge number of other building materials including brick, natural stone, ceramic tile, or even wood. It is ideal for beautifying driveways, patios, pool decks, walkways, and any other concrete surface.
Is stamped concrete expensive?
While stamped concrete is not the least expensive option to install, like all other concrete construction it is extremely cost effective over time. Because concrete is extremely durable, strong, and long lasting, you can expect your stamped concrete to keep looking beautiful, year after year with only minimal maintenance. Additionally, because it can so convincingly mimic other materials like stone, it is generally much less expensive to install a quality stamped concrete surface than it would be to install the material it is replacing.
When you walk around your Santa Ana property, be it your home or your business, is it even? That is, do you see or feel dips in your driveway, walkway or patio? Don’t worry; there are less expensive alternatives than a complete replacement.
Concrete raising, sometimes referred to as concrete leveling, is a way to repair sunken or uneven concrete slabs at a much lower cost than replacing them.
How does concrete raising work?
First, the team of concrete raisers at Access General Contracting Inc examine the concrete to determine what the underlying problem is. By understanding how the problem came to be we can figure out the best way to repair it. Next, we drill holes in the concrete to create access points for the leveling mixture. This leveling mixture (a mix of cement, top soil and water) is pumped into the holes to fill in the void underneath the piece and raise up the concrete at the same time. After leveling has been achieved and a careful inspection carried out, the holes are filled and the area cleaned. Lastly, comes a final inspection with the property owner so that they see the results and have all their questions answered.

Many people have concrete floors in their homes or places of work and are wondering what to do with them. Many people opt for carpets, wood paneling, or tile but there are quite a few advantages in keeping the concrete floor. “But concrete floors are not attractive” you may say. Well, we will agree with you there. A plain concrete floor is quite drab, but the right stain will change all of that. Available in a variety of colors, staining your concrete floor allows you all the benefits of concrete and more.
Great durability: Concrete is an extremely tough substance that will not warp, buckle, become loose, or rot like other floor coverings. A stained concrete floor is inflammable, has excellent water resistance, and the finish is resistant to fading from ultraviolet light. Basically, unless someone tries to damage it with a power tool or a hammer, the stain and concrete will stay as it is.
Energy saving: Thermal mass is when a substance has the property to absorb, store, and slowly release coolness and heat. Concrete has a high thermal mass rating which cannot be taken advantage of fully if the floor has a covering. It is estimated that a stained concrete floor saves you 15% to 26% annually on your heating bill (depending on the amount of concrete flooring you have on the premises).
Low maintenance: Usually a sweep or a mop is all you need to keep the floor looking great. Unlike wood floors, stained concrete does not need to have wax removed and then reapplied, a time consuming process. All it takes is a quick, and infrequent, buffing, which usually takes 10 to 15 minutes for 1,500 square feet.
